Chayanne's Schedule
We were speaking with Chayanne's management about his upcoming schedule
and thought you'd want to know what we
know at this point.
Chayanne is currently performing in concert in Panama and then Santo Domingo (Dominican
Republic) this weekend. After this, management says he will travel to Italy, Holland and
Spain for about two weeks, but for promotional appearances only.
Upon his return, he will begin a concert tour of Latin America that will continue through
the month of August 1999. Locations include Puerto Rico, Honduras, Aruba, Equador, Peru,
Nicaragua, Columbia, Mexico and then back to Spain for concerts.
They are still working on the exact schedule and will provide it to us at their earliest
convenience, and we'll pass it along immediately.

Chayanne's Upcoming Plans
Hi, Chayfans -
Chayanne's management has just let us know that on May 6th, he'll be flying to Aruba to
film a TV special performance of "Salome" for Holland's Lottery Show
("Staatslotertshow").
Additionally, after the U.S. tour, he will be continuing promotion in Europe. He'll travel
to Spain first, where he is currently #1/national radio charts/#1 national single sales/#1
national album sales. Also his CD sales are now "double platinum". The single
"Salome" is particularly popular.
Next, he'll travel to France, Italy and Portugal for promotional activities only.
Sounds like we'll soon be welcoming more Chayanne fans from Europe!

Important Washington D.C. News
Hi, Washington D.C. Chayfans -
I'm very sorry to disappoint you, but I knew you would want to know immediately. I just
received the information from Chayanne's management that the Washington D.C. concert has
been canceled.
I don't know why that decision was made and sorry, but I have no further information.
I hope each of you will be able to arrange to go to one of the other
concerts.

Premio Lo Nuestro

Kiki Desde Hollywood Premieres on Galavisión
Kiki Melendez will host a new BILINGUAL variety show on Galavisión, making it the first of its kind in the United States, beginning with its premiere on Sunday, April 11 at 8:00 p.m. Many fans from our website will remember Kiki from her former show on Galavisión "Salsa Desde Hollywood" on which she interviewed Chayanne last year. We're hoping he'll come back to see her again during his upcoming US tour in May 1999!
The format for the new show will include a segment called "On Location Celebrity Interviews (guess who we'd like?) and the "Salsa Brava" dancers (remember Luis and Joby from "Dance With Me"?) Kiki's first show will feature Carlos Ponce, Garth Brooks, Los Tigeres del Norte, Brooke Shields, Mexican actress Angelica Maria and Thalia.
Kiki has been a particularly good friend to this website and really LISTENED when we asked her to consider going BILINGUAL, so I'm sure you'll want to tune in to check out her new show! She describes her new format as "a bridge between both markets."

Chayanne's New Video/Activities
Chayanne's management has just let us know the details of the filming of Chayanne's next video and current activities:
- He is going to do a duet with popular Italian singer Anna Oxa called "Caminando, Caminando" (translation - "Walking, Walking")
- The video will be filmed tomorrow (March 10) in Barcelona, Spain
- Chayanne will remain in Spain continuing his promotional activities until mid-March.
- He will be continuing the '99 Tour on March 21 in Uruguay.
- Today, Chayanne just left France where he was a big hit, so I guess we can expect some new French visitors soon!

Chayanne to sing at "Miss Spain" Gala
Chayanne's management has just informed us that Chayanne is currently in
Spain, promoting "Atado A Tu Amor" in several major cities. While in Spain, he
will be singing at the ceremonies to crown "Miss Spain". Don't we know they're
gonna love him?
Additionally, his management said that they are getting closer on bringing up the new
official website. They promise that we will be among the first ones to know when it's
online!

Chayanne in English
We just received some very exciting news from Chayanne's management!
Chayanne WILL perform some English songs for the U.S. tour! They have said that they are
currently still working on them so that they can't be specific at the moment, but that we
are going to love them!
Chayanne WILL record an English-language album as soon as his prior commitments are
completed.
Chayanne WILL begin an English-language movie in October 1999.
I think we ALL have reason to celebrate Chayanne's commitment to his English-language
fans!

Chayanne's New Videos
Chayanne's management wants all of you to know that Chayanne's
recently-filmed new video "Salomé " is currently being edited. It will premiere
in Latin America first, then be released in the United States at a later date.
Meanwhile, Chayanne's next new video "Pienso En Ti" is scheduled to be filmed in
late February.

Chayanne Nominated for the ACE Awards
Today the press announced that our Chayanne has been nominated for best actor by the ACE AWARDS for his work in the movie "Dance with Me". ACE stand by Asociación de Cronistas de Espectáculos. (These awards are given by the showbusiness press, specially in Latin America and Spain).
The awards are for latin stars as actors, singers and special awards from music and television. Important artists from Puerto Rico, Mexico, Venezuela Dominican Republic and Spain are in the top of the list for this awards and Chayanne is one of them. They will honor some important actors and singers like Rita Moreno, Jennifer Lopez, Erik Estrada, Jimmy Smith (all from Puerto Rico), John Leguizamo (from Colombia), Maria Conchita Alonso (from Cuba - Venezuela), Edward James Olmos (Mexico) and others for their contribution in Hollywood.
Chayanne will compete as best actor with Javier Bardem from the movie "Carne Trémular (Spain), and Jorge Perugorría for "Cosas que Dejé en La Habana" (Cuba). The date is March 20, 1999 in Marriot Marquis Hotel (Manhattan).

Happy New Year!
First of all, Chayanne's management wishes all of Chayanne's fans a Happy
New Year!
They promised to give us Chayanne's 1999 tour dates NEXT week (Week of Janaury 11). They
said that because "Atado A Tu Amor" is doing so well on the charts, much of
Chayanne's activities this year will be focused on music (and promotional activities
regarding his music), then the 1999 tour itself. It's beginning to sound like a
substantial tour, not just a few cities!
So where, we fans ask, does that leave Chayanne's American movie career? They said that
Chayanne has received "many movie offers" and that he will probably begin a new
movie project by the end of the year.
As soon as we get further news, we'll post it!

Chayanne's Atado A Tu Amor has been nominated for the Grammy Award for Latin Pop Performance. The 41st Annual Grammy Awards take place on February 24, 1999, at 8 p.m. on CBS.
