Provócame to be Shown Around the World

Chayanne's office reports that Provocame is confirmed to show on television in the following countries.

• All Central America

• Greece

• Hungary

• Poland

• Rumania

• Israel

• Turkey

These countries will broadcast the soap opera within the first 3 months of 2002.

Maru Resigns from Chayfans.org

Dear Chayfans:

It is with great sadness that I must tell you that Maru, our Director of News, has decided to resign from her position with Chayfans.org because of personal reasons.

Maru has always been a major contributor to Chayfans.org and has been with the site for as long as I can remember. She has contributed photos, translated lyrics and many features, actively contributed to the message board and mailing list, moderated the mailing list, written news stories and collected news for the News sections (both English and Spanish), answered most of the Spanish e-mail that the site received during this last year, and acted as a liason with Chayanne's management.

Since Maru has volunteered so much of her time to the site, it's going to take quite a few people to fill her shoes. Carol, who is currently Director of Publicity, has agreed to take over writing the news articles for the News page and will act as the management liason. I will be taking over as moderator of the mailing list. 

I know this decision was difficult for Maru because she is very devoted to this site and the friends she has made here. She has been an incredible asset to Chayfans.org, and we would welcome her back at any time to work with us again.

We love you, Maru. Thanks for volunteering so much time for all of us Chayfans. :-)

Commercial

On Saturday August 11th, Chayanne shot a commercial for Lay's snacks along with Argentain model Julieta Prandi. The shooting took almost 12 hours and they gave the set the atmosphere of a disco. They picked Chayanne cause he represents the value and international prestige Lay's has around the world.

New Actress for Provócame

Colombian actress Lorna Paz is in Argentina shooting some chapters for Provócame. She plays Margarita, Pedro Balmaceda's ex girlfriend that comes to Buenos Aires to see him. Lorna became very popular thanks to her role in successful soap opera "Betty la fea," where she played Patricia Fernández.

Chayanne Nominated Twice for Ritmo Latino Awards

OK Chayfans everywhere - The "El Premio De La Gente" Ritmo Latino Music Awards will be on October 18th, 2001.

You may vote for him at Vons stores or Ritmo Latino stores and also on this website: www.ritmomusicawards.com. The page is currently under construction. Here are the categories that he is nominated under: 

• Solista o Grupo Pop del Año - Masculino 

• Artista del Año - Masculino o Femenino

Chayanne in Chile

On Monday August 6th, Chayanne was in Chile. He appeared on "El lunes sin falta" tv program. He was interviewed and sang two songs: "Yo te amo" and "Dejaría Todo" (this one along with Carla Constant from the show).

Radio & Television Awards 2001

We can officially announce that Chayanne has already won one of the Radio & TV Awards and will be invited to the ceremony on October 6th.  We did it! Thanks to all for your votes and support, but please, continue voting for him to see if we can make him win in more categories.  They are having a very important Press Conference this Saturday in New York where the nominees will be announced, as well as date, place and official hour of the awards ceremony.
