Last night, Chayanne performed his new single “Humanos A Marte” for the first time at the Billboard Latin Music Awards. The award ceremony was at the BankUnited Center at the University of Miami in Florida and aired lived on Telemundo.
“Humanos A Marte” is from Chayanne’s upcoming album, which is his 24th studio album. It has been four years since his last CD, No Hay Imposibles.
The song is currently available as an MP3 on Amazon for $1.29.

Chayanne’s mother, Irma Luz Arce, has died at the age of 75 after a battle with cancer. She had been hospitalized for a few days at Menonita de Caguas Hospital and died yesterday at 6 p.m. She was with her family at the time of her death.

Como ustedes podrán entender, es una pérdida muy dolorosa y por lo tanto pedimos amablemente que, por favor, se respete este momento por el que nuestra familia está atravesando.
Les pedimos una oración desde la distancia como una gran demostración de apoyo y esperamos su comprensión ya que el servicio fúnebre será de cáracter privado.

In the name of my family and myself I would like to inform you that my mother Irma Luz has left with God. She had been fronting a long and delicate situation but peace was on her side, it was always with her.
As you can understand, it is a great and painful loss and we ask you kindly to please respect this moment that our family is going through.
We ask for your prayers from afar as a demonstration of support and we hope you understand that the funeral service will be private.

More than 100,000 people attending a free concert in the Zocalo, Mexico City’s main plaza, with Chayanne and Marc Anthony.
Chayanne said, “Esta es hora de decir ‘México lindo y querido’, porque desde que empecé mi carrera he estado ligado a esta tierra, y hoy es un honor estar en el Zócalo. Mis músicos, mi gente y yo hemos preparado este show con mucho cuidado, así que pueden hacer de nosotros lo que quieran.”

This is the first concert held under Mexico City Mayor Miguel Angel Mancera, who is following the lead of his predecessor, Marcelo Ebrard, in fostering huge – and free – cultural events organized in the Zocalo in a country where having to pay to go to a concert is not within everyone’s financial grasp.

Chayanne’s schedule is full in January 2013, working on a new album.
Chayanne is currently in his native Puerto Rico, along with his wife Marilisa and children Lorenzo Valentino and Isadora Sofía. He lives in Miami, but every year frees two weeks of December to live with his family in Puerto Rico.
But the stay will be brief, for the next week he will be working on what will be the new CD.
The new album currently doesn’t have a title.
In addition to launching a new album, Chayanne expects to tour next year.

Chayanne, Marc Anthony, and Marco Antonio Solis met yesterday at the American Airlines Arena for their first series of tests of the “Gigant3” tour, which starts on Friday in Miami, Florida.
