The crisis forced the suspension of Chayanne’s concert

Chayanne will not perform in Laguna next September as planned. The crisis and the costly demands of the show to be offered by the Puerto Rican artist during the Fiestas del Cristo, have forced the area to break the contract with Rolo Productions.  

“I’m sorry that Chayanne cannot perform in La Laguna but be realistic. They demanded a brand of microphones, pianos and drums that are not in Spain. Furthermore, in a choreographed show that will include an elevator that we cannot obtain in our country, they should have brought the material from the United States, “said Festival Councilman, Jonathan Dominguez.

Earlier this year it was announced that the highlight of the programming of the Fiestas del Cristo would be the performance of the Puerto Rican singer and dancer. It was the artist himself who announced the news during a visit to the island when he was on Premios Cadena Dial 2009.  

“I’ll be in La Laguna in the tour of my new album, a journey that begins on the 19^th of August and will perform as well in other Spanish cities including Madrid, Valencia, La Coruña … several major cities,” said the singer to this newspaper last February.

A few months later, the local Corporation closed the contract with the producer and tickets were put on sale for 26 euros. The inescapable date for fans of Chayanne was set for September 19 at 21:00.

Although it was not until today when the council for the scheduling of the Festivity to celebrate the feast of Christ communicated the cancellation of Chayanne’s performance, Dominguez announced that “we had an investment for this concert of 50,000 euros for a single day. At that time, the Corporation estimated that “the extra cost of Chayanne’s concert would be between 18,000 and 30,000 euros for the artist’s fee which was going to be covered by the sale of tickets,” added the mayor. Chayanne begins the second part of his tour in Spain

The Puerto Rican singer Chayanne will begin the second part of the Spanish tour of “No Hay Imposibles’ on Friday that will during the months of August and September traveling through 13 cities.
Chayanne performs in Ciudad Real (August 20), Cadiz (21), Palma de Mallorca (25), Santiago de Compostela (27), Santander (28), Zaragoza (September 3), Leon (4), Málaga (9 ), Murcia (10), Granada (11) and Valencia (15), in addition to singing in the Palau Olimpic de Barcelona (17) and the Palacio de Deportes de Madrid (18).

The tour includes ten musicians and six dancers, who are part of a team of 70 people. The scenery is built at different heights, connected with ramps and stairs, plus an elevator for the appearance of the artist, born in 1968 in Rio Piedras, whose real name is Elmer Figueroa Arce.

With 90 square meters of LED screens, the ‘tour’ also has 130 tons of equipment, 120,000 watts of sound and 300,000 watts of lighting. Total of six trailers and 90 mobile art lights complete the device.

“Contagious To The Public”

Chayanne began the Spanish tour of ‘No Hay Imposibles on May 28th at the Latino Valladolid Festival. In it, the singer, dancer and actor presents his new album, which bears the same title of the tour and songs extracted are ‘Me enamoré de ti’, ‘Dame, dame’, ‘No hay imposibles’ o ‘ Tu boca’.’. However, he also sang classics such as ‘Salome’ or ‘Torero’.
 
“When I started with Los Chicos at the age of ten I was a child and was playing,” recalled the artist in May, when he presented the tour in Madrid. “Then I decided to go solo because I saw those great personalities such as Julio Iglesias, whom I admire very much, because he is a hard worker with great concerts, full of people.
