The Keys of Chayanne
A BIG HEART Did you know that Chayanne collaborates with many organizations? The Puertorican likes to help the most needy people. "It is one of the best things about fame... being able to give something to the ones that have problems! Sometimes I go to hospitals and I visit very sick kids. But seeing them smile worth it", he says with tenderness. Chayanne collaborates with Starlight Fundation, that helps the most needy kids. Also... he is ONU's embassador and he collaborates with the Inmigrants Fundation. "Our objective is to help people that come from other countries and have nothing", he explains. SPORTS What a body Chayanne has! The singer spends hours in the gym. "I like lifting weights. It is a good way to keep in shape", he says. "For me sports are a pleasure: water skiing, tennis, swiming, basketball... The bad thing is that they leave marks. Have you noticed all my scars? Well, I have them thanks to these sports",he adds.
HIS FAMILY Chayanne kept his marriage in secret for a long time, till the day a photographer discovered him with his wife. So, Chayanne confessed that he was married to the Venezuelan Marilisa Maronese, and that he also... had a baby! His "little man" name's Lorenzo Valentino, and he named him like that to honor San Lorenzo, the place where he grew. "My son has nothing to do with this world. I am the artist. Not him. The day he wants to appear in magazines he can do it. Till that time I don't want anybody to take pictures of him", Chayanne says. THE FANS "Fans are the best", the singer says enthusiastically. "Without them I wouldn't have reached this place, and each one of them is important for me. All of them have something to give: an applause, a kiss, a scream... That's why I always want to give them the best. When I prepare a new song, or I improvise for a show, I go to bed wondering if they will like it or not". As well, Chayanne has very famous fans. Do you know who never loses his concerts in Argentina? Maradona's (ex football player) daughters and wife.
HIS FAULTS Yes, Chayanne has faults! And he confesses them... "I am a little selfish. And it is hard for me to recognize it, but it is one of my worst "qualities". Do you know how I realized? With clothes! I have lot: shoes, jeans, shirts, suits... but when any of my friends ask me to lend them something, I never do it". SEX "Lot of people talk about sex, as something you have to hide, but I want to talk about it in my songs. That sensuality is part of the latin and of us: the hot, the passion, being ardent... Why hiding it? Sex is part of us. But I must confess something. Some days I arrive to my house in Miami, and I am so tired that I directly go to bed and fall asleep".
THE BEATLES It's incredible, but when Chayanne was kid he wanted to be like the Beatles. "Isn't it true that now all that seems to be very extrange? That was in the time of my first group, Los Chicos. Everything was new for us, and we chosed the Beatles as our model (although we didn't have much in commom). We watched their videos, their hair style and we had lot of fun with that. I remember that we rehearsed for hours with their songs. That's why I always say, that in a way, the Beatles taught us how to sing". LOVE "Love is like a plant! You have to take care of it every day cause if not, it dies". That's how Chayanne talks about love. He spends almost all the time out of his house. "It is sad, but my wife and I had to get used to spending hours talking on the phone. At the begining it was hard, but at the end we got used to it", he recognizes. Do you want to know how Chayanne is in love? He says "I am sweet, loving, sensual, romantic, tender, and very polite... There
