Simply Chayanne
by Rita Portela

Chayanne, one of Puerto Rico's most worldwide renowned stars, has just released his latest album in Madrid, Spain. The album is called Simplemente
(Simply) and the artist has described it as he would describe himself, simple and positive.
Recorded under Sony Discos record company and produced by Estéfano, the Puerto Rican singer has portrayed a more mature and neat side of his
singing career. In this musical project, the artist includes one duet with Panamanian Rubén Blades and another with Spanish songwriter Víctor
Manuel. These are, "Cuando un amor se va" and "Quién puso más," respectively.
Now that I'm successful and people know me they listen closely to my album to see if my success was pure coincidence or not and that makes me
act more reserved, he commented during his album's launch. The artist isolated himself from everybody and everything during eight months in order
to create Simplemente, which he adds, was worth it.
Chayanne is expected to begin his concert tour during the summer of 2001. Meanwhile, local radio stations are beginning to play consistently his first
promotional single, Yo te amo, as well as radio stations from other parts of the world.
